Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born on October 13, 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter and actress. The talent of Ashanti was discovered as a teen. The singer signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. That same year, she was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's track, Always on Time as well as Fat Joe's What's Luv? She became the first female artist to hold the top two spots in the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at first place and What's Luv? in second position.
